(B) It has been nearly a decade since the Lambert family has been haunted by ghosts and demons from another dimension. Dalton is now a college freshman and estranged from his father. Spooky things begin to happen when Dalton begins to paint a picture that unlocks long and forgotten memories.
Since Insidious 1 & 2 took place within days of each other, it was great to finally get to see the aftermath of the Lambert family Haunting.
This latest installment of the Insidious Franchise leaves the haunted house format which we have seen for the last 4 movies and goes to college with Dalton, who has become moody and dark since he has forgotten about his adventures in Astro projecting.
This new chapter has a very strong start but loses momentum as time goes on and Doesn’t quite live up to many of the more thrilling hauntings in the Insidious franchise.
We’re giving it a B
Insidious the Red Door, Is a fun and scary sequel to the consistently creepy horror franchise. There are some intense moments, constant jump scares, and some great character moments that follow up on the earlier installments. I just wish they took more chances instead of taking a very similar tiptoe through the tulips.
